T-Mobile Launches Data Stash to Roll Over Data

This is meaningless: the caption on the photo says "costumers" -- people who put costumes on actors -- get rollover data. How many "costumers" can there be? And how do I become one?

New Apple Patent Could Make iPhones Drop-Proof

Unless the drop is 10 feet or so, forget it. Better to always keep your phone strapped to a cat. . .they always land on their feet!

Netflix vs. Amazon Prime Instant Video: Face-Off

I have both Amazon Prime and Netflix, and have for some time. One thing not taken into consideration by the review is that extremely frustrating fact that movies and shows on Amazon Prime "move" between being "free" streaming content and paid content. In other words, if I put a Prime movie on my...

Need advice on purchasing a reasonable laptop for college freshman.

First, expecting 4 years from a laptop may be pushing it, esp. as it will likely be dragged everywhere on and off campus, whether it's damaged or stolen. IMO, as your son will be carrying it everywhere, I feel it's better to get a laptop with a small screen (14" or smaller) and have a separate...

Hey, Tom's, how about finding a better pirate picture for future articles. This guy looks like a stoner in a $5 Halloween costume.

Egyptian Government Taking Steps to Block Internet Porn

Blocking "porn" or possible porn sites is standard operating procedure in the Middle East, esp. Muslim countries. I spent 3 months in Qatar in Fall of 2009 and all things "porn" or potentially porn were blocked. Even movies on TV would edit out couples kissing! No joke. That said, cable TV...

    Motorola's Droid 4 Will Cost $199.99 Subsidized?

Didn't Google buy Motorola's cell phone division? Is that a done deal or is it still pending? How, if any, is Google involved in this (other than supplying the operating system)?

Sharp's 80-inch Aquos LED LCD TV Will Cost $5,500

Hey, I've had a Sharp LED-LCD TV for two years and except for the built-in speakers, which suck big time, the TV is fabulous, or fantabulous? Anyway, it's not quattron, whether that matters or not, but Sharp builds a nice TV, IMO, and $5.5K for a TV this size is not out of line. . .but too much...

Samsung Shows Off Flexible AMOLED Display

Great for smart phones -- no more cracked displays. OOPS! Phone manufacturers either won't implement it soon, or service providers won't sell the phones as part of a plan 'cause they couldn't count on resales from broken screens. Long lasting products are the antithesis of our consumer culture.

Report: Kids Are Getting High Off MP3s

OMG!!! Not since Elvis has the conservative right ranted about what music does to our kids. . .but I'm sure they won't miss the opportunity to try to control "morals" once again. Sheesh!!! Fox News will eat this up!

Uh oh: Verizon Dropping Unlimited Data Plans Too?

QUESTION: Hey, Tom's, what do other providers in other countries (e.g., Japan, Korea, Germany, France, England, etc. charge for internet access?
