hello Dan, when utorrent automatically detects internet in your PC it downloads.. give a new download in utorrent.. if it takes the download then utorrent can access the internet.. doesn't matter wired or wireless

download CCleaner. goto registry cleaner in ccleaner and select scan for issues and fix selected issues.. after that try and download the programs..
