lower the setting, the game was a mess at first but now the performance is mostly fixed and with the worse mod you can get more or less the game that was shown at e3 all those years back, still on a laptop that wont change anything, with those specs you should be playing on low/medium settings...

for video editing the 2nd system since cpu and ram are very important so i would suggest the second system, but then again for 3d rendering 1st system is better with 8gb vram and a single more powerful gpu(since i haven't used anything else then blender and never got a chance to use sli can't...

dota and tf2 should run quite well you should be able to get up to 60 fps in those game tweaking graphics settings, cant speak for lotro, the rest like warframe and skyrim will require quite a lot more gpu power to go to higher quality settings, but even then you should be able to get more than...

don't expect any moder game to run anything demanding on more than low-medium quality settings, skyrim will never run with all the mods on max, warframe wont run on to good either

desktop, it will always be more powerful, plus you never know whats coming down the line at least with desktop you'll be able to upgrade gpu and overclock
