I can confirm with TitanStats that this indeed works. Based on his feedback I upgraded my Asus K53Z from the dual core AMD A4-3300M (1.9 GHz) to quad core A8-3520M (1.6GHz) and I encountered ZERO problems. It booted fine straight from the start though it did have to reinstall the AMD drivers...
