Best gaming laptop for around $1,500

You can buy 2 of 512GBs, but can you afford it? Two will probably cost even more than the laptop itself. I have 2 256GB Crucials M4s and it's blazing (one for laptop and other for desktop). I've yet to try both in a RAID setup. You don't *need* RAID 0 SSDs. Nobody does. Also, there is no TRIM...

Replacing CPU or GPU? Acer Aspire AS7750G-6871

Replacing the GPU on a laptop is almost like heart surgery. CPUs are a bit easier to upgrade. However, why don't you buy a laptop that meets your needs without upgrading? I've seen so many good laptops on Black Friday. That deal is really good either way. I wonder if the store ships to the U.S.

Solved! Need a decent laptop for college

Current gen Dell XPS (not the z model - 15z) may be your best choice with JBL sound. The sound system is amazing. The 15z, though it looks sleeker than XPS 15, will perform weaker in games and weaker sound system. I also own an HP i7 with Beats Audio, and it has great sounds too (and it has a...

I7-2670QM 2.2 showing as an I7-2720QM in CPUID?

The 2670QM is a refresh of 2630QM. Some monitoring software will identify the refreshed CPU as 2720QM, such as Everest and HWMonitor. You can use CPU-Z (latest version) and System (Control Panel) to verify your CPU.

HP, Dell Avoiding Android Tablet Price War with Windows 8

stm1185Maybe Intel will come up with a way to make super efficient 22nm chips that allows x86 to be competitive on battery life and form factor while remaining relatively powerful? Oh wait... It will be just as saturated as the laptop market... It's Windows after all. But how is that bad for us...

HP, Dell Avoiding Android Tablet Price War with Windows 8

This is good. We know that the Windows platform is the platform for business and productivity. Of course, the main question in most people's minds is the battery life. Hopefully Microsoft can sway consumers into the right mindset.

    Which Gaming/college laptop is best?

For that price, you can do much better with the processor. I wouldn't settle for less than a 2820QM. But between those, I would pick ASUS.

    Best Llano Quad Core APU?

I went with my first choice after all... An 2nd gen i5 for $558 taxed seemed too good to pass up. Well, the keyboard could be better as I prefer chiclet or glossy keyboards. I'm still in for an ultrabook/Windows 7 tablet though.

    Best Llano Quad Core APU?

That is a decent list. Best Buy is the closest store to my place so that's a plus. I'm a little disappointed that most laptop deals involve an Intel laptop, and only two eye-catching Llano deals so far (and they're expired too): http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3065499...

    Best Llano Quad Core APU?

I'm set to buy a new laptop. So far, I have my eye on this: http://www.frys.com/product/6521903 (2nd gen I5 for $499.99 + tax) I'd like to buy a quad core Llano APU if possible. It seems that good Llano quad core laptops are fairly hard to find at a good price. Anyone know of a good deal for...
