I was personally leaning towards the i7 version of the Lenovo U410. Even though it's not in production anymore, I was planning to buy on it Amazon or something. That laptop really looks similar to an Apple product and though the Thinkpad is decent, it's just not that appealing to me aesthetically.

what about the Y400 vs the Y500? their cheapest models seem to have the exact same components except the cheapest Y400 model ($719) has a slightly faster i7 CPU than the cheapest Y500 model ($799)
