just to clarify, you took the pictures on a kodak camera. successfully transferred them to ur pc. now they wont open on your pc. correct? windows xp or 7?

YES!!! Formatting resets the drive and wipes everything. it sound like your card is corrupted. you might not be able to get the pictures off. try plugging it into a different pc. (i had this problem once and lost alot of family pics. lesson, always back up frequently.)

just plug the camera in using the included usb cable. open my computer and it will be there as a camera icon. double click on it and it will open to ur pics.

is this an sd card? if it is, make sure the little tab on the side is in the 'unlock' position.
