no, just black screen. Hard drive spins but no activity. I tried to reset, hold power button down until it stops. I tried to flash the bios with a usb drive, hold down the win key and b, but nothing happens. ?

It won't boot at all. It powers up and the hard drive spins and that's it. At first I was getting an error message about the cmos, but not anymore.

new cmos battery didn't help! I may have a virus that corrupted the bios and if this is true I may have to replace the bios chip? Does this sound likely or does anyone have a better solution? Maybe trash can?

I had to order it, waiting for delivery. That was a real bear getting to it. I had to completely remove the motherboard. It was on the other side and not accessible thru the bottom panel. I'll let you know if it works. tku
