I have 8 gig of ram, I give up, I will not post anymore, Thanks for the help everyone.

Just downloaded and ran disk sentinel and it said the hard drive was excellent, no problems found. In the disk performance tab it shows the current disk activity spiking at 100% just like the task manager...

Thank you to all of you who have helped me with this problem. This is what I have done so far. Performed defrag-optimize, no change Performed scan disk, no change Started up in safe mode, still freezes, Task Manager does not show disc, only cpu & memory Performed seagate drive scan, drive smart...

I will do that if the defrag and optimize ever gets finished...LOL

It was doing this before I upgraded to windows 10...

cpu is below 5% most of the time and memory is always below 20%, I am doing defrag and optimize right now to see if that helps, so far it hasn't and it is on pass 8.

The computer is a Aspire E 15 Touch, E5-511P-C9BM, SNID # 42308296634, Intel Celeron quad core processor Ns930 (up to 2.16 GHz), Intel HD grapshics, 8 GB DDR3 L Memory, 500 GB HDD. Just got this computer on May 7, took all day Sunday for 225 update, and Sunday evening upgraded it to windows 10...

How do I get you the specs??? And what specs do you need...
