My guess is OP thinks about heatsink on VRMs. Simple rule here: if manufacturer built motherboard without heatsinks, it will work without them, of course within limits set by manufacturer. But if you try aggressive CPU overclock on a board without VRM heatsink, yes you can damage motherboard.

To output 5.1 sound from your motherboard you need 3 cables with mini-jack each on MB side, each cable sends signal for 2 channels. Your Samsung uses only double RCA as input, so I don't see a way to make it work, at least not without some kind of adapter.

It could be your motherboard or it could be PSU. It could even be a piece of cable touching some hot area (like CPU heatsink). It could even be dust burning if your case has a lot of it. You should try to track the source of this smell, otherwise it would be rather hard to help you.

Did you made a restart after update? My guess is Windows updated only GPU driver and AMD software is not aware yet that driver has been changed. You may need to reinstall the software. But on the other hand, if machine runs flawlessly and you are not really using the software, you can leave it...
