Ok this looks solved. Its been 2 or 3 hours screen blip free, the first time in months, thanks Someone Somewhere

I can now turn the trakpad off. I downloaded & installed the new windows 8.1, 64bit smart gesture driver from Asus Support ( http://support.asus.com/Download ) Because I restarted to install the driver I'll have to wait a while to see if it fixes the cursor

Since windows 8.1 i can't disable the trakpad through fn + F9 . Do you know another way?
