Personally I have never heard a pair of surround headphones I liked. It's good for positional audio, being able to tell more accurately the distance and direction of a sound. But that's about it in my opinion. You are used to the cloud alphas they are a dual driver (One speaker for each ear)...

I have a 55in TCL 6 series. My sample is excellent, no banding whatsoever. Bought it from best buy, it was manufactured October 2018. You cant beat it for the price, I bought it mainly for the full array backlight. Blacks are excellent, it gets bright enough for HDR or dolbly vision content...

Turn down the bass in the TV's audio menu? I'm sure it's not hard. If you want me to be more specific than that I need the model number of that TV.

The TV may not even have AV ports, a lot of modern TV's don't. Cable TV would look rather bad at the 480p resolution AV cables can support on a 1080p or 4k tv. Like said above use HDMI if the cable box has it.

What are you looking to spend? Lots of options for external DAC/AMPs. The Fiio E10K is a good option for cheap, the schiit stack (schiit magni and modi) is also very good but more expensive. I would personally take a good external dac/amp over a sound card any day personally.

I wouldn't buy a cheap HDR TV not for HDR anyway. Like I said a lot of cheap HDR tv's don't get bright enough or have the color gammut to prperly display HDR content. They just like to slap "HDR Capable" on the box for marketing reasons, on a lot of those cheap HDR tv's SDR content will look...

How much do you plan to spend? A lot of cheaper HDR TV's really don't get bright enough to make good use of HDR content. There is a good amount of HDR and dolby vision content on netflix, amazon prime, and hulu nowadays. But of course if you don't plan to watch any HDR content its not worth...
