    Batch File Execution problem

%username% would return just the names. while %userprofile% returns the users profile path. ie: "everlost" vs "c:\documents and settings\everlost"

    Batch File Execution problem

i am haveing a bit of trouble posting today. to continue.. the differences from win7 to winxp could be how the registry stored information (userprofile), added/removed commands or syntax, and/or how variables/flags are handeled (%%A).

    Batch File Execution problem

you have instances of "U:\%USERPROFILE%filename.ext", "%USERPROFILE%\filename.ext", and "%USERPROFILE%filename.ext" where i would expect the commands would be interpereted as "U:\U:\profiles\users\filename.ext", U:\profiles\users\\filename.ext", and "U:\profiles\users\filename.ext"...

    Batch File Execution problem

looks like your rename syntax is wrong. you may have to copy then rename. also you can add lines like "date /t >>c:\backuplog.txt" and "time /t >>C:\backuplog.txt" to see what is happening when. to see if its running a command again or just logging it again. the "everything is ok" is just 7zip...

Samsung home theater HT-X30 "protection error" can't power-up

Well, you are going deeper than I expected. Some of these checks your doing (with a voltmeter?) may not give you help eliminate a problem circuit. The protection circuit, usually a relay, could be cutting power to the amplifier cct, or just the outputs. Class d amps are difficult to test...

    5.1 channel coax to toslink

i dont think a dvd/BR player/reciever would use rg6 for digital audio. it would use RCA, Optical, and/or HDMI. a reciever may have a rg6 like connector for AM/FM radio. it would be identified with an impedance number (omega) as for a optical to coaxial converter, they do exist. you can find...

Samsung home theater HT-X30 "protection error" can't power-up

i think its telling you there is a short somewhere. try unpluging everything (speakers, outputs, and inputs) and see if the message is still active (probably have to cycle the power). then plug in everything one at a time, to see what wire, cable, or device may be your trouble.

    In-line Volume Control Help

for the line level control you could cut in a gang pot a (DIY & info link). you could look at your local car audio shop for an amplifier gain/volume control. if you want to adjust the speaker level output, it gets complicated. but many home automation (smarthome link) have various solutions...

    connecting ps3 to home cinema

you can use a multi-out cable to get your audio. you can select it as your audio output in the audio settings. from what i understand, enabling the multi-out downgrades the HDMI video quality, and its analog audio. you could look for something calld a Toslink to SPDIF coaxial converter.

LG 52LB5D TV No picture but sound.

imag0239qm.jpg looks like your backlight circuit. i see resistors, jumpers, Varistors (MOV), Voltage Regulators, capacitors, balasts, and what looks like a relay. since you heard a pop. i would expect to see some kind of mark or discoloration. you may have to look on the other side of the...

Loud crackling develops on its own, even after all controls were cleaned and working again.

its not really a point to gound the reciever, like to a wall circuit. but a place to make all your equipment at the same potential. you would tie in all your equipment to this point to eliminate ground loop signals (60hz hum) from circulating through your inputs/outputs. especially if not all...

Loud crackling develops on its own, even after all controls were cleaned and working again.

considering the VU meter didn't look like it was moving i would think the pre amp circuits are probably fine. i would also check and clean any wire joints/connections that are not soldered, an look for any cracked or broken solders. the ground terminal would help any hum you might have on your...
