Might be cheaper to a new one. Saw Overstock.com has them for $158

The problem may have been using dd. That would copy the partition table
and basic drive information (format, etc) to the new drive, making it look
like it's a 120 or 80 meg drive. If msadd reads the same data,
it thinks there is no...

I have a extra 80 gb drive and saving it in case my hard drive goes bad.
Should I back the drive I have in the case or is it easy to get a generic

off the net.?

I've got a friend with the same problem on a series one
direct tivo that was upgraded. Still don't know what
caused it, (it still does it) but it was upgraded also.

I have heard that Rio makes (or made) a device which attaches to a
home network, finds media files, and plays them on your tv. Culd
someone please tell me what this unit is called?
