It's okay, I bought a new laptop. I travel a lot for work and carrying around a laptop is too much bother. Thanks for the help though.

No such luck. A system restore did nothing. Off out for a new laptop.

It's on 60% now so I'm giving to wait. I really hope this works because I e just ßoent a load on x,as and it's pretty much wiped me out. Fingers crossed.
