The only reasonable explanation I could see would be thermal throttling. The components in the Laptop probably get hot enough that they down clock themselves - limiting performance. Let's wait to see who else chimes in though.

You can't. The only way to have all the lighting under 1 eco-system is to have all components from same/ compatible brands. This is something you need to watch out for while you're buying your components. Unfortunately your only option is to download the lighting program for each one...

With no thunderbolt 3, the E-GPU is out of question. With the integrated graphics you might be able to get by playing some games that are not that demanding in terms of graphics but whether any of it would even be playable I'm not sure.

What are the specs of your laptop? I can't say off the top of my head whether this would be possible to do. Some laptop motherboards may be transferrable to a desktop case, but most of the time they are missing holes for motherboard standoffs, in which case transferring the guts wouldn't work...
