Thanks for the reply.... I certainly wouldn't have thought the problem could be with the CMOS battery. It would surprise me if it was, cos it's a relatively old laptop. It's definitely worth a try! If not, I'll tryout a new adapter and a battery after that. Thanks again!

I’m trying to fix a laptop that won’t charge the battery. I’ve got an adapter with at small green LED and it lights up when I plug it in… Indicating that the adapter is working… BUT the minute I plug it into the laptop the LED turns off and the computer isn’t charging… Anyone got an idea why...
