Is there a converter that I could buy? I used to know all this stuff but then came the family life and now I'm catching up. I'm currently trying to talk the wife in to buying a new tv for my daughter's room and getting one that has a 3.5 headphone jack and then just swap them out.

I have a newish LG 32 inch tv in the bedroom. I just bought a 2.1 speaker system that will not hook up to the tv. The speakers have 2 options. 3.5 headphone jack and white and red. The tv has no red and white audio out ports. Only audio in. There is a headphone jack but it says "service only"...
