I finally got it. I goggled remote volume and realized there is a separate adapter, with remote for this purpose. Thanks for the help. -

thanks again, and I really am not dumb. :). So there is a separate item called remote volume, different from remote control? As for the receiver, my thought was to have an audio out on the receiver , where I could plug into the rca plug on the amp. No? -

what do you mean, remote volume? Would be just putting a receiver in the middle, fix it? TV goes either HDMI or optical to receiver, and receiver goes rca plugs out to amp? -

??? The amp doesn't have a remote. The system was already installed in the home I purchased, and only has rca plugs to plug into. -
