I have a mhsamp-06-cube home system that is rca plug driven. Beside splicing the rca plugs into my TV speakers, how do I hook up to control the volume

Solution

Each TV does it differently. Mine doesn't. Manual says fixed output.

This issue is commonly solved by using a universal remote.

Newer equipment that are all hooked up with HDMI throughout, they can control each other via CEC.

That's a bummer. What u got for free doesn't work on your situation.

Either change TV or change amplifier with a remote volume.

what do you mean, remote volume? Would be just putting a receiver in the middle, fix it? TV goes either HDMI or optical to receiver, and receiver goes rca plugs out to amp?

to be honest, I don't know what the previous homeowners did. Here is a link to what I have: https://riverparkinc.com/manual/mhsamp-06-cube-product-information-document/

thanks again, and I really am not dumb. :). So there is a separate item called remote volume, different from remote control? As for the receiver, my thought was to have an audio out on the receiver , where I could plug into the rca plug on the amp. No?
