To me CCleaner is like a last step before I just wipe windows and do a clean install. If you can safely backup just the essentials such as photos, videos and music then do a clean install of windows, I'd recommend that more than anything.

Anytime I try to transfer data I do the transfer then I try the media in a source that was uninvolved in the process. for example, I would load everything to that SD card, then use the adapter chip and try the card on a computer. That way you can see if everything transferred.
