Windows Vista.. he's overcome the problem in the last 5 minutes! He went onto F8 which then allowed him into the system tools menu, onto system restore then the recommended restore date. After a few minutes his icons appeared on the screen! Jubilations all around.. no more mithering man...

When my hubby switches on his Acer Aspire laptop all he gets is 'Configuring updates 0%' which then changes to 'Configuring updates 100%' and there it remains. No Start up menu.. nothing. He's tried waiting an hour, switching off then on again, Escape.. F2 F8 and F10. Nothing works at...
