    I know for a fact that it's not a hardware issue. I'll provide more details. So I've been using the function where the touchpad is disabled when a mouse is plugged in. This used to work fine, though now, it always seems to sense that there's a mouse plugged in, whether or not there actually is...

    My touchpad works fine as long as I'm not signed in on my laptop. As soon as I sign in, though, it stops working. This started ever since I ran chkdsk. My operating system is Windows 8.1. This is most definitely a software issue, not a hardware issue.
