I would suggest getting the latest HP Envy laptop and get Linux on it. That is what I use and it is very reliable and the performance is awesome. I like HP laptops because they are simple to modify which is perfect for your computer science course. Good luck ;)

I'm not the guy for hardware but just saying, if you want more reliability and speed, get linux instead because windows greatly slows down your rig.
