    Thanks. Actually I purchases a HDMI - VGA (about $50) converter which works fine.

    Thanks I realize that the HDMI doesn't carry the audio but for some reason when I plug it in it mutes the sound from the audio output both on the computer and and audio output to ear phones or external speaker. Thanks
