    having an issue

    probably a projector issue, check it, a dead bulb if it uses them, or just plain dead, Maybe time for a nice upgrade to a 4k one :D

    connect cable box to receiver to tv

    simplest is via hdmi if available, otherwise there should be a red and a white connector for stereo output on the box wich goes into the stereo input on the receiver. receiver stereo out goes to tv stero in.
