I have no problems with colors on displays, nor external or the built-in display. I use an external one almost all of the time I'm using the Y500. Try enabling/disabling SLI to see if it helps or not (of course if you have only the on-board GeForce GT 650M, you can't turn on SLI).

Maybe it's a basic solution, but try Repairing MS Office 2010 in the Control Panel (Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features - select MS Office 2010, click Change - select to repair). Sometimes it does miracles!

Do you have a firewall installed on your laptop? Maybe it blocks the WLM client. Try adjusting/disabling your firewall completely.
