Thank you. I created the install USB, set the boot order to USB first and still the same thing happens. It is an older laptop (probably 2014) that I don't need so I will probably remove the hard drive and recycle it.

My ASUS Q302L was operating really slow and I know it is a little old. I purchased a new Dell and am very happy. I thought I would reset my ASUS to factory settings to see if that would resolve things. It started that process and I think the HD failed. It came with Windows 8 originally. Before...
