    Ok, I tried the steps you state above and nothing has changed - still doesn't turn on and orange light blinks 4 times then nothing else. Any other suggestions/ideas?

    When you say remove mains adapter I assume you mean to remove the power cord, is that right? If so, I tried as you suggested and no change.

    I was doing a hard drive scan with AVG and my laptop screen went black. Now it won't turn on and it flashes and orange light. Help! Laptop isn't even 6 months old!
