Ok, but do you think the current battery will cope and be reliable with the latest iOS? If not, can I roll back some way to e.g 12.4?

I am giving my old 6s to my Dad and want to make sure it’s reliable before doing so. It’s currently running iOS 11.something. The battery is at 84% battery capacity. I could replace the battery and then just update to the latest iOS but is there another option? I’ve read that 6s runs better...
