For the price of the parts you may as well pick up a new replacement lcd panel of Amazon/eBay for £30 and watch a few good youtube vids on how to replace the existing one. You could use the same vids to strip the existing one out and re-fit it to see if it is a physical connection issue.

Do you have an external monitor you can connect the Laptop to, just to see if its an issue with the Motherboard hardware? If an external screen works then its either the LCD panel its self, or possibly the ribbon/connections either screen side or MOBO side of the hinge.

Have you tried removing the Battery, plugging in the mains charger and powering it on? Your model like most should run direct from AC charger without a battery installed. If it does then its not the charger causing the problem. If it fails to boot, I would try a new cloverleaf power cable to...
