What laptop model is this? Sounds like there is a wire touching the fan. You'll need to move the wire away from it if that is the case.

Reliable I did not know about. Would definitely take it into consideration. I've always loved the old IBM laptops, but when my friend got a Lenovo (ThinkBook I believe) we were both not impressed by it. But it has been a few years since then.

As mentioned in Post #14, the issue has been resolved and he has used MyASUS to check the fans. The fan was not connected properly.

As we both mentioned, it was either disconnected or connected incorrectly. It was getting some power from the pins it was connected to so it was working at a low level. Happy to see it was resolved.

From partitionwizard.com: Step 1: Go to Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard. Step 2: Then you can see the settings for Sticky/Filter/Toggle Keys. Just slide the button to turn them off. I don't know if that would affect only one shift key, but you might as well check it.

What about a different power source? Otherwise it seems like the CPU or motherboard. Did you reset the BIOS?

How was the RAM checked? What happens if you turn it on without RAM?

What do you mean by "not turning on"? No reaction at all? No fans, lights, nothing?

As I have previously said, I think you should take it back to who fixed it, since they likely caused the issue.

Have you tried using it with only the power adapter and not the battery and vice versa?

What model laptop? From that description, it could be quite a few things - Power supply/battery, CPU, RAM, GPU, motherboard. Anything happen since the last time it was working? Your best bet is probably checking all of the parts.
