Can I increase memory clock to 1000 MHz? Will it damage my gpu or it will be the same with other laptops that has the same GDDR3 plus 1000 MHz memory clock?

Well thanks for the answer all laptops brand mention both has GDDR3 including mine what bothers me is that frequency being lower on what it should be. I wonder why makes me sad... If I increase it to 1000 MHz will it affect my Gpu's lifespan or it will be the same as Acer and Asus???
