If you definitely want to get a 7.1 surround sound gaming headset, then the Kingston HyperX Cloud II and the Logitech G35 headsets are some great headsets (The G35 is actually on sale for $49.99 on Amazon). I would just get a quality set of stereo headphones and attach a modmic. -MystoPigz

The HyperX Cloud/2 and Logitech G35 gaming headsets are both good gaming headsets under $100. The mic problem about the HyperX Cloud 2 you see in reviews is not that bad; it is just a bit on the low volume side. But, the mic on the Logitech G35 is better. -MystoPigz

I am having trouble finding a gaming headset with great 7.1 surround sound that is under $100. I need a headset that could help me pinpoint where sounds come from and hear footsteps. The headset also needs a mic that is audible in-game. When recommending headsets, experience is preferred. Thank you!
