Hi, I was just curious to know if the HyperX Cloud 2's were compatible with the ModMic. I recently bought the Cloud 2's for $60 and I'm not sure how I feel about the mic right off the headset.

So, in the end, going with the 558's and a ModMic sounds like a good idea now. I've seen that the 558's output with a 1/4 and have a separate 3.5mm jack you can connect to it. Would it be worth my time getting a 2.5 to 3.5 cable if I plan on using this for my computer?

Before, when I researched multiple 558 vs 598 threads, almost everyone said to opt for the 598's as they are much more improved and are worth the price difference.

I heard that if you decide to go for the HD 558 that you might as well go for the HD 598's, so.

But the 598's don't make good use of my motherboard without a proper sound card.

Also, the 598's are more appealing to my eyes, as the open-back design of the Audio-Technica's has a very exposed honeycomb design, as well as very large circular cans. But the price jump from the AD700x and HD 598 is around $50, and the 598's won't really take use of my motherboard audio.

Magnolia section? I am unfamiliar with that.

I don't have any local stores that carry audiophile grade headphones. Really only have Best Buy, Office Depot, and some local music shops that carry low end headphones.

Let me note that this is my first step into audiophile grade territory, so I am unable to know quite the difference between Sennheiser's and Audio Technica's sound signature.

I think my plan is to go with the AD700x's because they're only around $100, and they have a lot of great feedback. I plan on adding a ModMic to it as well.

The AD700x's are really appealing to me in design and how they work with games. I think I will most likely get these, but I did hear that the bass is very absent on them, but I've heard that about a lot of headphones that are audiophile grade and open back, so.
