Does the ModMic work with the HyperX Cloud II's?

Hi, I was just curious to know if the HyperX Cloud 2's were compatible with the ModMic. I recently bought the Cloud 2's for $60 and I'm not sure how I feel about the mic right off the headset.

My friend was the same way, has a modmic stuck right onto the side of his cloud IIs.
Hes running the cable independently down the original cable to his PC. Sounds great.

if you dont need the mic of the hxc, i'd return them and get headphones like the ad500x or hd518 then get a modmic for those. it seems silly to buy a headset then buy another mic.
