There's definitely a chance, but there's really only one way to find out.

It sounds like you did everything right, especially by not trying to turn it on. Once it's been in the rice for a day or two, just try to turn it on and hope it works. That's really all you can do at this point.

Typically if you have an outlet nearby to plug it in, do so, especially during demanding tasks like gaming, or long tasks like downloads. The battery will last longer if you don't use it as much. That being said, I would still make sure you use the battery a bit at least every couple of days...
