Need help with EMI shielding in a ribbon mic

So apparently the 2 best materiaos are tin and aluminium, which ended up being a somewhat interesting turn of events.

Need help with EMI shielding in a ribbon mic

I have plans on making a compact noise canceling DIY ribbon microphone from scratch. All the 3D models are done (most of it will be 3D printed) and it ended up being quite neat. But its structure itself poses a big problem. Since it's small, the 2 transormers (2 ribbons) end up being too close...

Decent looking laptop for gaming and school under 2000 €

I actually found out about xnotebooks, they assemble laptops on demand and send them to all major European countries. Ended up paying 1850€ (taxes and shipping included) for an i7 6700 HQ, GTX1070, 8GB of RAM and 1000GB of SSHD, not to forget that it has GSync.

I actually ended up choosing the i7 version of the ASUS FX502VM, thanks for the help though.

Decent looking laptop for gaming and school under 2000 €

Currently I'm trying to get myself a good laptop with a price tag of less than 2000 € which I wouldn't be scared of showing in class (basically I don't want a portable circus). I was looking at the MSI Dominator until I saw the lights on its back which look kind of "cringy". I'll use it for...

Toshina Satellite Fan starts at 8% of speed when I start the laptop with the battery in.

You could try controlling it with HWMonitor or FanSpeed.

You could try checking the fan settings in the UEFI.

    VR enabled GPUs

Depends in which games. Despite having upgraded their DX12 support, nVidia still isn't faster than AMD who's 3 year old recycled cards still beat any nVidia in async computing. Also, here in Croatia the 1060 costs almost 2/3 of a 480's price. Also, not to forget that it's actually because the...

    VR enabled GPUs

AMD GPUs are just as powerful as nVidia GPUs when comparing prices, it's more about developer support from here. EA supports AMD, while dev teams like 4A are more nVidia friendly. AMD has easier to use multi display setup (at least it had last time I checked), but produces more heat due to a...

Is this build a good VR ready PC?

Yes, this should be good as long as you don't expect too much from it. This is pretty much the best build you can get for that price, but you should not that the 8xxx series is really old and soon ZEN will appear and will have the performance to concurate with Intel.

Anyone knows a good non-emoji android keyboard

Hm... I tried it once, but the problem is that I'm using a phablet, so I just want a keyboard that is ONLY A KEYBOARD. To make it short, I just want a keyboard for everyday messaging and browsing that won't have those annoying smileys and that is good enough to use on devices with a smaller screen.

Anyone knows a good non-emoji android keyboard

I'm currently using the default google keyboard but, considering that I program in lua and create simple webpages sometimes, I get a lot of text changed into emoticons. My question is if there are any good and simple keyboards that don't have those annoying things and don't go as far as having...

GTX 800M and 900M series rebranded?

They probably used the same memory, but the other problem is the cooling and the PSU. Laptops always have inferior cooling, if we imagine a laptop with a 500W PSU, it still won't be able to reach a lot because of the airflow limit. And now for the power, most of the laptops work on around...
