Recently I was hit with some scammy ads on Firefox. I wasn't on any sketchy website nor did i download anything, it just happen out of the blue. Thinking I had a virus, I did a quick-scan with Norton and nothing popped up. I'm wondering if this is normal or should I be worried?

Yep, definetely something up when i indtall avg.. Wont let me uninstall it nor cani delete it from the reigstry... i doubt it anything external so im wondering is it a bios virus all along?

hmm, thing is the chromium thing never appeared with avg before the virus so if i use another antivirus, would the system be safe to use?

Yea pc was completely normal prior to installing avg and no chromium aswell.. Gonna try a another antivirus thnx Just wondering how would the avg install be corrupted if i'm downloading it from the website?

Okay deleted all my partitions did a fresh install with my new windows usb. Installation went fine and pc was normal as usual so then i went ahead and installed avg which again caused the pc get spike up really high in disk usage and chromium appeared in my software registry.. Strangly i found...

I only installed the free version of AVG and Adwcleaner so nothing foreign

Finished up making a new bootable usb and installed windows again.. Installation and setup went fine so i got my network setup and installed avg and then disk usage spiked to 100%, pc got unusally slow, and the same suspicious chromium appeared again in my registry.. idk if i should just give up

one last thing im wondering about and this totally went over my mind... but i made the dban usb on my infected pc and have been using to clear my disk so is that more likely cause for why malware keeps coming back?

Yep, I'll give that a try once i get my hands on a usb.. and if that doesn't work, i just gotta move on.. Anyways i really appreciate your help

Nope, I did a custom install and chromium doesn't come as a default package.. its an opensourced program which can get laced with viruses so im really confused as to how it manages to come back

i forgot to mention that when i installed my normal avg anti virus, chromium would magically would appear in my registry and when i delete it, it would come back and lurk there.. Also when i try to end task "Avg antimalware service", windows pops up saying access denied.
