I think it refers to a lens error, ie body and lens are unable to communicate. Try removing and reattaching the lens or cleaning the lens and body contacts.

Change the settings to force the flash to fire regardless of light conditions. If it consistently fires, the problem is probably elsewhere... perhaps other settings, metering, etc.

I'm assuming you've transferred the files to your PC and are able to view them. If so, the problem is more likely on the side of your email client.
