Having the battery at full while charging will decrease battery life. That said, there is no other drawbacks to having it on the charger. No damage other than to the battery will be done to the laptop.

The MSI Gaming app sucks in general. You shouldn't be using it at all. If you're monitoring temp, then you could use RealTemp, which is my favorite for Intel CPUs. Cool features are not very cool when you could do the exact same thing with the BIOS much more efficiently.
