I uninstalled, rebooted, and installed WinRAR English (64 bit) Version 5.21 from http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm, I ran JRT and Malwarebytes, and my pc is clean. I still get the error.

I have a rar file that's over 1gb, and it won't open on my laptop. I can open it on other laptops but not mine. I always get a,"The archive is either unknown format or damaged". I have repaired the archive but it turns into a 0kb file when i try opening it. The program I use is WinRar.

Try it in High-performance.

Both can run 2014 games well, but the GT 840M is stronger than the 920M. The Lenovo, imho, has way better specs than the Dell, in terms of gaming and work (school or job) purposes.

Is it on Power-saving mode? If yes, then try putting it to balanced or high-performance mode and try adjusting. Source: My laptop does the same when it is in power-saving mode.
