I'm not sure about your specific laptop, but with nearly all laptops you can't upgrade the motherboard, cpu and gpu. You can however, usually upgrade the ram and hard drive.

How were you using the laptop for the 4 hours? Minimum screen brightness, no wi-fi and idle, doing some light to medium web browsing, or other? As for Battlefield 3, I'm expecting to have to put it on the low settings to get good framerates. Thanks for the info!
