Yeah, considering it's an "older" game, that laptop should blow it away. If anything, you could save money on a cheaper model. If you have money, try going with an "SSD" or "Hybrid" storage option to speed up windows and game loading times.

950 is newer and faster than a 840, but for the sims 3, you probably wouldn't notice the difference. I wouldn't base my choice on the GPUs alone.

If we're comparing a i5 with the same speed i7, then the extra hundred dollars won't be worth it for WoW. You're only adding Hyperthreading, which is like having 8 "virtual" cores, while WoW is probably making use of 2 cores, max. Those new models will be more demanding on your Graphics Card...
