can a 3d gaming hp laptop run w/ non 3d video card if it works with the chip set? will the display work properly??? :sweat:

have a hp envy 17 2090nr with a bad video card. it's a ati mobility radeon 6850 1g dedicated. either a 5850 will do or something other than 3d will do. anyone know where i can get one?if there is another non-3d then please let me know the kind &/or the part # and where. got the board out ready...
