    remote compability hifi

Well, you will definitely need the code for the remote then. Rather then Harmon Kardon, I would get intouch with Nevo. They should be able to help you, probably quicker then the folks at H/K.

    remote compability hifi

The Nevo C3 is a learning remote, so even if there are no codes, you should still be able to 'teach' it to work. of course if the receiver your bidding on doesn't come with a remote, that wont be very helpful. Nevo remotes are designed to be set up by a custom installer. I've also herd there ir...

    Pioneer AV receiver dropping connections

Well, sorry to hear that. Although, it's probably time to replace the Pioneer. Once you start having those kinds of problems, it's usually not long before it will become unusable. 3 years is an awfully short lifespan, but, like most things, Pioneer isn't the company it was 15 years ago...

    Pioneer AV receiver dropping connections

I would try what you just said. There "shouldn't" be sync issues, and an optical cable will definitely support 5.1 audio. Strange that the TV optical is only stereo. Makes me wonder if there isn't some setting on the TV that's not right. At the very lest, when you connect your audio directly to...

    Pioneer AV receiver dropping connections

1st question: do you have the drop out issue with non hdmi sources (cd player, built in tuner, turntable, cassette deck, etc)? If those work OK, it's most likely the switching circuitry in the receiver. Does the Panosonic display not have an optical audio output? I let my Samsung TV handle the...

Are The Sony MDRXB950N1's Worth It Or Should I Just Buy The MDRXB950B1's?

Depends on how noisy is the area you plan to use them in. While I've never used the sony's you are interested in, It generally works pretty well. My personal preference would be to use a pair of closed-ear headphones with no noise cancellation, but different strokes for different folks.

    Audio-Technica BPHS1 for PC gaming?

Why not see if he would let you try them. I would personally think the Audio-Technica would be the better choice, the question, is it worth $100 over what you've already got. Everyone's personal taste will vary.

    5.1 surround sound loudspeaker installation

No worries! I've been in Audio in one form or another for 30+ years, and i'm still learning everyday! These are the kinda questions I live for. Sound and sound reinforcement are very misunderstood sciences. Love to help when I can and try to clear things up where applicable. Till next time...

    5.1 surround sound loudspeaker installation

USAFRet, home audio components wont hold up to commercial sound use, nor do they provide anywhere near enough power. The JBLs the OP is reffering to have built in 1000watt amps for each speaker. You did get the part about filling a circular arena, right? Home speakers/receivers, integrated amps...

    5.1 surround sound loudspeaker installation

Umm, for pro sound installation, those JBLs should work fine. I run 3200 watts worth of Mackie PA powered cabinets from a Berhinger X-AIR XR18 mixer. The only issue with what you want to do would be that the sound card your using my not have a hot enough signal to drive the JBLs to there rated...

I have a project for you all: Humming Noise when Connecting Speakers to Subwoofer

I suspect your right about the third ring being used for the LEDs. So when you plug-in a 2 ring plug, the LED and ground are probably getting shorted out to each other, inducing the hum. Not really a ground loop, but you are adding some type of signal to the ground of the sattelite speakers, and...

The Bestbuy People Stacked All My consoles on Top of each other?

Please tell me you at least dont close the cabinet door while in use. What you have there is the makings of an oven! There's no way any of that equipment is getting enough ventilation.

TEAC HTIB500 speakers on Yamaha RX-V373

Well, the main problem is the yamaha receiver has no powered sub out. With your sub and that receiver, you will need another amp to drive the sub. It also doesn't look like that receiver likes 4ohm loads, which some of your speakers seem to have. I'd probably keep looking...
