So I took out the hard drive and put in the Linux boot CD and it runs normally, even the BIOS runs normally.... so it definitely is the hard disk :s

Hello! so I've got a Toshiba Satellite L855D for almost a year now and recently uptdated from linux mint 14 to 15, but I didn't backup my data correctly. I ran testdisk to start a file recovery but when it finished running the computer rebooted and from then on it's been asking me for a pasword...
