Want to know the best graphics card to lok for in a laptop-i like amd-but which

In the high-end of single GPU setups, look for a 7970m or GTX680m. That's honestly all I can tell you without you specifying more about the laptop.

    i5/670M bottleneck

Well, the i7 supports some more "features" like other instruction sets. Go on Intel's page for both processors and they will list features.

Is this laptop good? (for gaming and college)

If you buy a Envy 17 from the HP store the GPU is a 7850m, which is a big step up from the 7690m.

    i5/670M bottleneck

I honestly would recommend the i7, especially for just $70 (HP made me pay $110 more), not only does it have double the cores but it also turbos far higher than the dual core, so even single/dual threaded applications will see benefit. I think Starcraft II/SupCom II can use multi-cores in the...

I recommend the i7-3610m (the cheapest i7). 6GB DDR3 1600Mhz base RAM. 2 HDD bays (can get SSD + HDD, or Hybrid HDD). Very good speaker setup...

I see, can you elaborate on the 7850M's performance a bit more? Notebookcheck is giving me some weird percentages in performance.

Ordered an Envy 17 2 days ago, good value?

I found a coupon for the Envy 17, and after looking at the specs (CPU, GPU, etc) and build quality (screen, audio, build) I decided to buy one. Now I'm having a bit of buyer's anxiety, . So I got the following: i7-3610QM (quad core, 2.3GHz base, Ivy Bridge) Radeon 7850m 6GB RAM (2...

HDmobile Could be a New Standard to Connect Smartphones

MegaMookThe problem with MHL is that you can't use both the USB functions (using a USB OTG cable you can connect mice/keyboards/flash drives) and the HDMI functions. With Motorola phones you can do this (as it has two ports, HDMI and USB). So I can, instead of carrying around a big bulky laptop...
