Thank you I believe you are right. The surround sound speakers were the wire type that you insert the wire into a peg. That's not an option on this TV.

Using the yellow, white and red connectors I connected green to green, blue to blue and red toe red. I have a beautiful picture but not sound. Since there are two red and one white, I tried moving the red to a different red got static but no change and red to white got static but no change...

I was able to get a good color picture. But the TV has a blue a green two red and one yellow connections. I've tried moving everything around and end up with no picture or a black and white picture. I can get a good color picture but all I get is static for sound.
