I would like to know if laptop LED cables are interchangeable at all. Has anyone been in a bind and been successful in swapping the LED screen cable from laptop to another?

Am I correct in thinking that when I need to replace a laptop LCD screen that I all I have to do is just pull the cracked screen, check the LCD screen model number (LTN154X3-L03) on the back of said screen, then purchase a replacement screen of the same model number? If so (yes), will it matter...
